    3D printing

3D printing is the process of making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, typically by adding a lot of thin layers of a given material on top of one another. It’s a bit like making a loaf of bread by laying one slice on top of the other.

PETG is short for Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol, and is a glycol modified version of PET. It’s used to make water bottles, food packaging, and other common plastic items. It’s a type of material made from thermoplastic polymers and is clear/opal coloured in its base form. Like all thermoplastics, when you heat it, it becomes mouldable and once cooled, it solidifies. PETG has properties which make it ideal for use in a diverse range of applications.

For 3D Printing, PETG is an excellent material choice since it has great thermal characteristics which allow it to cool efficiently with minimal warpage. It combines the most useful characteristics of ABS, in that it’s rigid and strong for functional parts with the ease of printing with PLA.

    Orders

Yes! For orders above 50kgs you can request a quote either through our webshop or by getting in touch with us directly through letstalk@reflowfilament.com A dedicated sales agent will be in touch with within 24 hours.

At the moment we don’t have a returns policy in place. If you have any issues with your filament please get in touch through the support form at the top of the page and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

It’s generally not possible to cancel an order once it has been confirmed. If you made a mistake or would like to change your order, please get in touch as soon as possible with our customer support through the form. Keep in mind that if the order has already been shipped, we won’t be able to change it.

If you want to change the delivery address please get in touch as soon as possible through our customer support form. Keep in mind that if the order has already been shipped, we won’t be able to change it.

You will receive an invoice via email once your order is confirmed.

It depends on where you are located and the order size. From date of shipment, it generally takes 2-3 working days to reach countries within the EU and approximately a week for outside the EU. If it takes significantly longer we will make sure to let you know.

You will receive a personal tracking link for your order as soon as it has been shipped.

If you cannot find your country on the shipping list, you can submit a request and we will get back to you as soon as possible with a quote.

Yes, we aim to ship worldwide. If you cannot find your country on the shipping list you can submit a request and we will get back to you as soon as possible with a quote.

The shipping costs vary significantly based on location and volume. You will get a quote based on your order before proceeding to payment.

    Impact

Right now, our impact program includes working with Chintan on their No Child in Trash program. We are working to fully develop our Impact program so that we can grow it in both depth and breadth.

We support the Indian not-for-profit Chintan. As we grow, we will be looking to expand the groups that we support.

Chintan uses our donation to enable child waste collectors to develop better understanding of science through practical learning as part of their No Child in Waste program.

A portion of the profits from each roll of filament we sell supports our Impact program.

We look for organisations whose goals and philosophies match ours. We also look for organisations that have transparency in reporting.

Get in touch! While we can’t promise that we’ll be able to do something right now, we love hearing from passionate people who share our goals.

Unfortunately at the moment we don’t have the infrastructure or resources to accept plastic waste for our filament. In fact, we currently get the recycled plastic from local recyclers who are experts in cleaning and pelletising the plastic and providing the high quality input which is essential to making good filament.

We source high-quality recycled plastic from recyclers local to our production facilities. That means we use plastic from the Netherlands at our Amsterdam facility and plastic from India at our Delhi facility.

We are looking into B Corp certification, but have not yet applied.

    General

Our main location is in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and we also have an office in New Delhi, India.

Sure thing! Drop us a line at letstalk@reflowfilament.com and we’ll see if we can make it work.

For every kg of Reflow filament, we repurpose the equivalent of 79 plastic bottles.

    Technical

PETG is a hygroscopic material meaning that it absorbs moisture easily. We recommend storing it in a dry environment preferably in a closed container with silica desiccant that comes with the spool.

Filament is made by the process called wire extrusion, where recycled pellets of a thermoplastic material are melted and converted into high quality 3d print material.

Reflow sources high quality recycled raw materials and follows a stringent quality control process. The final product is not only safe to use but performs as good as other virgin PETG available in the market.

Reflow PETG has a glass transition temperature of around 75°C. As the temperature on most dishwashers doesn’t reach as high, the prints should be safe to use in dishwashers. That being said, the Reflow PETG and products printed with it are not deemed to be food safe, and we don’t recommend using them in products that might come in contact with food.

Reflow PETG melts at 230°C +/- 10°C. Although you can use a non-heated bed, we recommend using a heated bed around 70°+/- 5°C for better results.

Reflow follows strict quality control protocol which can be broadly divided into following categories:
    1. We have 100% dimensional inspection. All strands of Reflow filament adhere to stated dimensional tolerances.
    2. We print with every batch of filament we make to guarantee high quality printing filament.
    3. We also conduct periodic third party tests to get unbiased results.

Reflow material technical data sheets are available to download on our website.

Reflow PETG is not FDA approved or food safe.

Reflow filament are more than 95% recycled PETG, which can be recycled up to 10 times with a small degradation in the material quality. Although we haven’t done in-depth studies, we believe that the Reflow PETG can be recycled up to 5-6 times for the purposes of 3D printing.
